DISALVO INTERIORS RAISES $40,000 FOR BRAIN TRAUMA WITH CELEBRITY-DRIVEN BENEFIT

DISALVO INTERIORS TEAMED UP WITH A-LISTERS LORRAINE BRACCO OF THE SOPRANOS , ROSIE O'DONNELL, JAMES WOODS, MARK WAHLBERG, THE NFL, AND GOLDEN-GLOBE NOMINATED ACTRESS PENNY MARSHALL TO RAISE $40,000 FOR BRAIN TRAUMA RESEARCH

 

LONG ISLAND, NY (December 5, 2007)--When a head injury caused by an explosion at the World Trade Center sent their cousin into a coma earlier this summer, diSalvo Interiors' mother/daughter design team decided to hold a benefit to raise money for Brain Trauma Research. In conjunction with a-list celebrities and a host of prestigious sponsors, the benefit took place on November 15 at the diSalvo Interiors showroom and benefited the Brain Injury Association of New York State. The benefit featured:

  • A live auction by host and co-chair Lorraine Bracco of The Sopranos
  • Silent auction items from Rosie O'Donnell , Mark Wahlberg, JAMES WOODS and NFL players Peyton Manning, Jerry Rice and Brett Favre ; and Ana Sophia Scheller of The New York City Ballet
  • Co-chaired by Golden Globe-nominated actress, producer and director Penny Marshall of Laverne & Shirley
  • Attended by NFL players and NFL CFO Kim Williams
  • Sponsors included Saturday Night Live, Philosophy, Southern Wine & Spirits of New York, Warren Tricomi Salon & Spa and the New York Giants
  • Silent auction items included a signed Laverne and Shirley script, a signed DVD of A League of Their Own, original art, luxury accessories, exclusive event tickets and spa and hotel packages and signed sports jerseys. 
  • Auction wins included: $2,600 for 2 tickets to walk the red carpet at Mark Wahlberg's next premier and after party; $3,000 for a table at Nobu donated by Lorraine Bracco; $2,000 for a bottle of Lorraine Bracco's signature wine signed by The Sopranos cast; and $700 for Saturday Night Live tickets
