ROSEMARIE DISALVO OF DISALVO INTERIORS TAKES HOME NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS'   HIGHEST HONOR AS "TOP BUSINESS WOMAN OF THE YEAR"


For her professional accomplishments, commitment to her Long Island community, and extensive involvement with local and national charitable organizations, Rosemarie is recognized with NAWBO's most prestigious annual award

 

LONG ISLAND, NY (May 23, 2007) - Co-founder of mother-daughter powerhouse diSalvo Interiors, Rosemarie diSalvo is announced the recipient of the National Association of Women Business Owners Long Island's "Top Business Woman of the Year" award. With a decade behind her as co-principal of her interior design firm diSalvo Interiors and over 20 years of experience in the legal industry, she is also working on a pro-bono project for Hospice House, and will soon team up with Winthrop University Hospital to host a party for the children's ward. She is also a professor of interior design at Nassau Community College, as part of her commitment to making a positive impact on the future of young adults within the industry. Alongside an extraordinary assembly of professional women, Rosemarie will be officially honored in an awards ceremony on Wednesday, May 23 rd .

"I am excited and humbled to receive this honor," says Rosemarie. "I have always envisioned a professional world that rewards discipline , principled convictions, and having fun. This award proves that these ethics are not only my own, but also shared by the professional community at large."

The NAWBO Woman Business Owner of the Year Award is awarded to a woman who has demonstrated strong leadership skills in growing and managing a successful business that is more than five years old while also sharing those skills by participating in volunteer and civic activities.

Unveiling the awards alongside Rosemarie will be a prestigious group of sponsors including Walt Disney and Guardian. Gloria Steinem will also be a NAWBO keynote speaker this year, and the organization has been featured in House Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune .

With a love for travel and her unerring eye for antiques, Rosemarie diSalvo comes naturally

to the design industry. A professor of interior design at Nassau Community College and cofounder of diSalvo Interiors , she spent over 20 years in a legal profession, and is aware of how important homes are to people. That experience has been channeled into running diSalvo Interiors with her daughter, Annemarie, capturing the essence of what a gracious home can be. Rosemarie studied interior design at C.W. Post and specializes in period design. Traveling to Europe for both business and pleasure helps her acquire both period antiques and modern European design on a regular basis. She is also an active member of ASID & NKBA, and deeply involved in community and charitable organizations.
