DISALVO INTERIORS DESIGNS MANSIONS & MILLIONAIRES' OPULENT FRENCH BEDROOM SUITE
Benefiting the Caumsett Foundation, diSalvo Interiors presents a regal 19 th century guestroom in one of the most prestigious showcase proprieties in the country
LONG ISLAND, NY (June, 2007) - Mother-daughter powerhouse diSalvo Interiors recently unveiled their Opulent French Bedroom suite at Mansions and Millionaires on the former Marshall Field III estate in Caumsett State Historic Park, Lloyd Neck. The show began April 21 and will run through June 10.
For the event, the diSalvo staff created a lavish French bedroom, reminiscent of the palatial guestrooms of 19 th century French royalty. Working closely with Stark Carpet/Old World Weavers to select the area rug and window fabric, the room's color palate was inspired by a stripe from Stark's latest line, and glows in pale rose, platinum gray and taupe. The furniture, all late 19 th century French antique, is traditional, formal and luxuriously elegant. A rare full-bedroom suite, the space features a full size bed, nightstand, armoire and dresser, producing a look of historic opulence and fresh, modern-day extravagance.
Significant elements include 1940's chairs with antique belt buckles and Sworovski crystal embellishments, a cornice above the headboard with diSalvo Private Collection hand embroidered silk drapery panels, and a hand-carved custom headboard and footboard with rare and magnificent doré bronze metal working.
A Georgian Revival Gold Coast country house, the architecture and the views on the estate are as impressive as the design. The showcase will benefit the nonprofit Caumsett Foundation.
