The billiard room and home office are prominent
rooms in new construction projects and many
renovations. These spaces are not necessarily dedicated
to men however, as more and more women enjoy these
intimate spaces. Many home offices have been adapted for
use by both the husband and wife to share. Many libraries
are certainly gender neutral designed with an English style
club atmosphere. The billiard room is well appointed with
touches of antiques and intimate seating areas and tables
that allow for a friendly card game or a snack. Basements
once used only for storage have become an oasis for game
rooms, media and entertainment areas, home gyms and
even custom designed play areas for children, such as
indoor batting cages, golf ranges and basketball courts.
The possibilities for adaptable space in existing homes are
endless. With new construction, a blank canvas allows the
homeowner infinite choices to customize the use of space.
